Job Duties of this position include:
- Operate previously set up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW)
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of welding, brazing & soldering equipment including cleaning, part replacement, & reporting malfunctioning to the maintenance team.
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
- Repair worn parts of metal products by welding extra layers.
- Inspect welded or soldered joints for quality, uniformity & strength.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
· Adjust welding heads and tooling according to work specifications.
· Follow all workplace safety protocols & fire hazard prevention measures.

· Knowledge of metals and their properties
· Ability to follow technical instructions and safety procedures
Job Type: Permanent, full-time positions
Wage: $36 per hour for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Overtime: applies after 44 hours per week @ 1.5 times the wage.
Experience: 1-2 years’ experience.
Education: Secondary schooling. Experience as a machine operator or several months of on-the-job training.
